Crab Pelau


  • 3 pounds crab meat
  • 1 pound uncooked rice
  • 2 ozs. Butter or margarine
  • 3 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 onion, garlic, cloves
  • 4 blades of chive
  • 1 hot pepper


  1. Chop the crab meat into pieces and season well with salt, pepper, onion garlic and cloves.
  2. Heat the butter or margarine and lightly fry the crab with the seasoning (without browning) for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add coconut milk and the rice. Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 30 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is soft. Add butter and serve hot.
